Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Drastic Old Game Studio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the DrasticRetro mobile application and related websites (together, the “Service”).
By using DrasticRetro, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
DrasticRetro is an Android application that helps you play classic games using game files that you provide yourself. We do not sell, distribute, or host copyrighted game files (ROMs/ISOs).
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process the following categories of information:
- App activity and diagnostics: crash logs, performance data, and basic device information that help us improve stability.
- Advertising identifiers: if ads are shown, advertising SDKs may use device advertising IDs and similar identifiers in accordance with their policies and your device settings.
- Purchase information: if you buy premium features or remove ads, Google Play processes payment details. We receive purchase status (for example, whether a purchase was completed), not your full payment card numbers.
- Local game library data: file paths and metadata needed to scan and display your library are processed on your device. We do not upload your game files to our servers.
- Optional cloud features: if you enable cloud save sync through a third-party provider, that provider processes the save data under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Contact information: if you email us for support, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
We do not require you to create an account with Drastic Old Game Studio to use core emulator features.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve DrasticRetro
- Diagnose crashes and performance issues
- Deliver and measure advertising (where enabled)
- Process and restore in-app purchases
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
4. Advertising and third-party services
DrasticRetro may display ads through third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdMob) and may use analytics or crash-reporting tools. These partners may collect device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to provide and improve their services.
You can learn more about Google’s practices and controls here: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
On Android, you may reset or limit your advertising ID in system settings. Availability of these controls depends on your device and OS version.
5. In-app purchases
Optional purchases (for example, premium unlock or ad removal) are processed by Google Play. Please review Google’s payment and privacy terms for details about how Google handles billing data.
6. Game files and copyrighted content
DrasticRetro does not provide copyrighted game files. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to possess and use any game files you add to the app. Game files remain under your control on your device unless you choose to sync saves through a third-party service you enable.
7. Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond and maintain records. Advertising and analytics partners retain data according to their own policies.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers that help operate the Service (advertising, analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync)
- Google Play for distribution, updates, and purchases
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
9. Children’s privacy
DrasticRetro is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International users
If you use the Service from outside the country where our systems or partners process data, your information may be transferred across borders. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards and the privacy commitments of our service providers.
